News and attractions
EFL Cup
- Arsenal reach EFL Cup final after eight long years. The last time the Gunners did this was at Wembley in the 2017/2018 EFL Cup final against Manchester City, who won 3-0. Also in this year's final, Arsenal will face a team from the blue side of Manchester. The final battle is scheduled for Sunday 22 March 2026 at 17:30 (CET).
- Arsenal in has only won the EFL Cup twice in its history, in 1987 and 1993. Although it is the least prized trophy of the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup, all North London fans would undoubtedly love to see Arsenal dominate the EFL Cup.
Premier League
- David Raya in the game against Sunderland, he picked up thirteenth league clean sheet in the current season, thus equalling his record from last season, in which he won the Golden Glove, among other things. Now, however, with 13 games left to play, the Spanish goalkeeper will have the opportunity to improve his stats this year.
- Martín Zubimendi scored against Sunderland his fifth league goal and surpassed his personal league best. A very sympathetic gesture was also the celebration of the goal, which he dedicated to his injured teammate, Mikel Merino. Considering that Zubimendi is starting as a defensive midfielder, his numbers are impressive. It was his sixth goal in all competitions.
- Although he came on for Sunderland after an hour of play, he Viktor Gyökeres managed to score two goals. It seems that the Swedish striker has finally fully acclimatized at Arsenal. In the last eight competitive games he had a hand in eight goals (6+2).
- In the match statistics also signed up with an assist Kai Havertz, who's in solid form since returning from the sack. In recent in four games he contributed to four goals (2+2).
- After Aston Villa's hesitation, things are slowly starting to look up in only the pair of Arsenal and Manchester City remain in the battle for the league title. After twenty-five rounds, the North London team is leading the a six-point lead.
Other
- Viktor Gyökeres has been voted Arsenal's Player of the Month for January. During January, the Swedish forward collected 4 goals and 2 assists in all competitions.
- Arsenal did get one signing at the end of the January transfer window in the form of an 18-year-old youngster Jaden Dixon. So in his case, from Arsenal's point of view, it is an investment for the future.
- New reports have confirmed that Bukayo Saka will miss about three weeks with an injury. The English winger will definitely will not be involved in Arsenal's games next week. I am convinced that Arsenal's medical team will primarily target Sako's return ahead of the North London derby, which is scheduled for 22 February 2026.
- Also on the casualty list is still the team captain Martin Ødegaard. Although Mikel Arteta informed at the pre-match press conference before the game against Sunderland that the Norwegian footballer's injury is not serious, he has already missed his second competitive match because of it. Hopefully Ødegaard will be able to recover in time for Thursday's game at the Gtech Community Stadium.
- Arsenal's final appearance in the EFL Cup caused rescheduling of the league game against Wolverhampton. Arsenal will travel to Molineux about a month earlier than originally planned, on Wednesday 18 February 2026. The kick-off is scheduled for 21:00 (CET).
