Piero Hincapié has become one of eight Arsenal reinforcements to arrive at Emirates Stadium during the summer 2025 transfer window. The Ecuador international, who can play on the left flank and in the centre of defence, has headed to north London from Bayer Leverkusen. Due to the high spending in the aforementioned transfer window, Arsenal have arranged with the German outfit for Hincapié to come on a one-year loan initially with a mandatory option for a permanent transfer. After the end of the loan spell, the Ecuadorian footballer is expected to sign for Arsenal for another five years. The agreed amount that will go to Leverkusen is £45 million, with the German club still entitled to 10 % of the amount from the player's resale as part of the transfer. Mikel Arteta thus further strengthening Arsenal's already very solid defensive line.
