Jurriën Timber transferred to Arsenal in the summer of 2023 from Ajax Amsterdam with the expectation that he would compete for a place in the starting line-up on the right or left of the defensive back four. However, in his very first start in the Premier League, the Dutch defender picked up a serious injury (a torn cruciate ligament in his knee) and spent his first season in north London on the sidelines. In his case, however, the old adage "He who waits, waits" proved true. Timber flew into the following season like the wind. In addition to being a versatile player who can play every position in the defensive line with ease, he won a place in the starting eleven Mikel Arteta's, his performance exceeded the expectations of all Arsenal fans. Strong in personal battles, reliable defensively, calm with the ball on his kicks and playing with great vision. Huge versatility combined with high quality of play makes Timber the perfect example of a complete modern footballer.
