Kai Havertz has rather surprisingly left Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2023/2024 season to join Mikel Arteta's for a sum in the region of £65 million. The German midfielder/forward's beginnings in the red and white jersey have not been easy. The amount of transfer fee combined with his playing and shooting woes caused Havertz to be criticised from perhaps all sides in the early stages of his Arsenal engagement. In difficult moments, the German offensive all-rounder was supported not only by the manager but also by his teammates and after a while things started to turn around. The turning point was the penalty against Bournemouth, which was given to Havertz by the captain Martin Ødegaard. It was the first goal for the German footballer in his new position, which helped him a lot especially mentally. Havertz suddenly became more confident on the pitch and gradually started to add to his diligence and work ethic the most important thing required of strikers, goals and assists. Suddenly, he was the scapegoat and a fan favorite. Nowadays, Kai Havertz is one of the important members of the Spanish manager's squad and, I dare say, in Mikel Arteta's eyes, one of the players in the starting eleven. We will have to wait a little longer to find out whether he will retain his position in the coming seasons.
