Arsenal have often been accused in recent years of missing one final piece of the puzzle to success. What is it? A top striker who will be able to score 20+ goals in a league season. Neither strikers Kai Havertz nor Gabriel Jesus have been able to surpass that mark in north London so far, and so the Gunners management plan to strengthen the offensive ranks ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
#9 Gabriel Jesus
The technical offensive all-rounder headed to Arsenal in the summer ahead of the 2022/2023 season from rival Manchester City. Although in his first season at Arsenal Gabriel Jesus didn't quite live up to expectations, the ideas of how many goals he would score were different, more optimistic. Part of the blame for his stats undoubtedly lies with the frequent injuries that have dogged him for virtually his entire career. Let's hope that the skilful Brazilian will return to full strength for the new season and that he will not suffer any more injuries. The moment Gabriel Jesus is 100% fit, he belongs to the category of difference players. He certainly doesn't lack quality.
#14 Viktor Gyökeres
Viktor Gyökeres is exactly the player Arsenal fans have been craving for years. A typical top striker with a nose for goal. His stats from Sporting, where he was before joining Arsenal, speak for themselves. So goals, goals and more goals are expected from the Swedish footballer in the Gunners camp. The footballer himself has become a favourite of Arsenal fans even before his arrival. During the almost endless transfer saga that stretched almost halfway through the 2025 summer transfer window, he and his agent did everything they could to make him an Arsenal player. It was finally done. Moreover, the Swedish beater chose the iconic number 14, worn by the most important player of the modern era of the North London club, Thierry Herny.
#29 Kai Havertz
Strikers are a scarce commodity at Arsenal, so even Kai Havertz, who started his time at the Emirates Stadium playing quite regularly in the centre of midfield, has moved to the spearhead striker position as time has gone on. The lanky German all-rounder is characterised by his immense work rate and footballing intelligence, but his goal-killing instincts are simply and simply lacking. That's not to say Havertz can't score goals, he certainly can't. However, he's not the type of striker to push into the box and try to finish from every position. And quite possibly that's what Arsenal lack.
