The biggest excitement among Arsenal fans in terms of transfers was the arrival of the Swedish shooter Viktor Gyökeresthere's no doubt about it. However (so far) the most spicy transfer of the summer transfer window has a name tag Eberechi Eze. The reason is simple, rivalry. Although Arsenal's interest in the services of the England international was rumored as early as the end of June, the Gunners were never close to acquiring the former Crystal Palace star during the summer transfer window. Arsenal's biggest rival, Tottenham, however, did. Spurs management have been working hard in recent days on the arrival of Eze and all indications were that the transfer would be successful.
The opposite was true. Everything has changed Injuries Kai Havertzwhich kicked off another an unforgettable transfer saga in north London. Even before the official announcement of the transfer, collages started appearing on social media, likening Eze's transfer to that of the legendary Sol Campbell. So how did it happen that the almost-finished transfer to Tottenham finally came to Arsenal? Almost immediately after the German striker's injury, the Gunners' management started negotiations with Crystal Palace and the player himself. No more beating around the bush. An offer like Crystal Palace wanted. The agreement on personal terms looked quite similar. The result? Done in a few hours.
However, the transfer of the England international did not come cheap for the Gunners. Arsenal had to fork out for the 27-year-old footballer £60 million with the additional 7.5 million could go into Crystal Palace's coffers in bonuses. The total transfer fee could reach up to £67.5 million. In terms of the contract, the Eze signed at Emirates Stadium until 2029.
The management of the North London club is showing great ambition in the current transfer window and at the same time sending a message to all rivals that Arsenal is serious about the title chase this year.
Welcome to the Arsenal, Eberechi!
