The Premier League is finally back after a long three weeks! It's matchday thirty-two, in which the charges Mikel Arteta's Bournemouth will be welcomed to North London. Arsenal, having lost to Manchester City in the EFL Cup final before the international break, surprisingly exited the FA Cup after it, falling to Championship side Southampton. Subsequently, the footballers bounced back in the Champions League, winning their first quarter-final match away at Sporting Lisbon. Now, they need to follow up that victory in the domestic league. Although the Gunners are now only competing for „two“ trophies, these are the most significant ones, making every match incredibly important. This applies whether it's the Champions League or the Premier League. Let's now take a detailed look at the league match against Bournemouth, which is now quite literally on the horizon.

Form
From the perspective of current form This time you really can't compare both teams.. Arsenal after the international break He played two competitive matches, Bournemouth not one. Let's be honest, even those two matches are too few for a more comprehensive assessment of form. In Bournemouth's case, assessing current form is completely illogical. The Cherries players took to the pitch for their last match three weeks ago.. In the tables below you can see the last five results of both teams, but bear in mind that with the exception of Arsenal's last two matches, all others were played before the international break.

Team and expected line-up
Mikel Arteta, as is his custom, at the pre-match press conference He didn't reveal much that was specific about his players' health. Regarding most of the players who missed Thursday's open training session, he said that nothing can be definitively stated. The only exception is Eberechi Eze's return, who has recovered from a calf muscle injury and will therefore be ready to feature in Saturday's match against Bournemouth. So, what is the most likely Arsenal starting line-up?

Expected line-up
In the defensive part of the line-up, I don't expect any changes from the last match against Sporting. This means that he will once again stand between the three posts. David Raya the defensive quartet will line up as Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori.
I have slight doubts about whether the English footballer will manage a third competitive match within one week. After all, he's had more than his fair share of injuries this season, but hopefully, he's back to full fitness now. To be honest, I expected him to get a run-out on the right flank of defence in the match against Sporting. Cristhian Mosquera, but it happened, and so I think, that Ben White will start this time too. The situation on the left flank is also not entirely clear. Piero Hincapié He hasn't appeared in a squad selection for the representative team even once, but he at least took part in the pre-match training, where, on the other hand, Riccardo Calafiori was absent. Of the left-backs, only [name] is officially 100% fit. Myles Lewis-Skelly. Despite this, it is expected that for the match Will the Italian defender be ready, and so I think we'll see him in the starting lineup. He might not manage the whole match, but he shouldn't be missing from the starting eleven.
There will be one change in the composition of the central midfield trio, unfortunately forced. Martín Zubimendi nor Declan Rice will not be missing from the Spanish manager's squad, But who is likely to be absent, again, is Martin Ødegaard. The Norwegian footballer had to be substituted again in the match against Sporting and was also absent from Thursday's training, so he will likely not help his team against Bournemouth. Although Eberechi Eze he's returning, so I don't think he'll jump straight into the starting lineup. In the number 10 position, or rather a false nine, the goal hero from Lisbon will start in my opinion, Kai Havertz.
Just as in the defensive part of the lineup, Mikel Arteta won't be changing anything in the attacking line-up either.. This means that from the first minute, on the wings Leandro Trossard and Noni Madueke, while at the very tip of the attack then Viktor Gyökeres.
Absences
Outside of the game, it's still Mikel Merino, about whose condition Mikel Arteta spoke after a long time. The Spanish midfielder has already taken off his brace and is working on returning to full fitness. However, we did not learn anything more specific, such as a return date, from the press conference. The great news is that Eberechi Eze, who has already been mentioned, has returned from the sick bay.. On the contrary, a bad one, that they are reporting further health problems Martin Ødegaard. Most likely it’s nothing particularly serious, but the Norwegian footballer is incredibly unlucky with injuries this year. In Saturday's match, Arsenal will also have to continue to do without two stars from the right side of the pitch, Jurriën Timber and Bukayo Saka. Although both are close to returning, their comeback is most likely not going to happen on Saturday, but perhaps Arteta's selection will surprise us in the end.

Match
Are we expecting a football advert? Most likely, unfortunately not.. Personally, I think that on Saturday afternoon we'll see that „classic“ picture of a game where Arsenal will keep the ball with patient and often even passive waiting for the opponent's mistake, while Bournemouth will play defensively, from a deep block and on quick counter-attacks. Mikel Arteta will certainly not be trying any new things at this stage of the season, so I'm leaning towards us seeing what we've become accustomed to from Arsenal. In short, the ends justify the means.
I believe you are going to Arsenal, with the quality they possess and even more so at home against Bournemouth, will manage. and will pick up three important points in the Premier League table before the match against Manchester City. I just hope the Gunners quickly take the lead, which would help them a lot in the match. At the same time, a quick goal from the home footballers would certainly also help football itself.. The hosts at Vitality Stadium would have to push more into the attack, which would also open up spaces for Arsenal players. Let's see what the match ultimately looks like. I'll just add my prediction for the exact score now. I predict Arsenal to win 2:0.
Next match
The North London footballers are scheduled for their next competitive match on Wednesday 15.04.2026 from 21:00 (CET), when they are coming The return leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Sporting Lisbon. This time, however at the home of the Emirates Stadium. I'll just add that Arsenal will go into the match with a one-goal lead from the first leg.
See you next time, I'll look forward to it!
