Oleksandr Zinchenko came to Arsenal together with Gabriel Jesus in the summer of 2022 from champions Manchester City, with the aim of bringing a winning mentality and experience to the team. The Ukrainian, technically based central defender, who has no problem playing even in the middle of the park, immediately became a member of the starting eleven upon his arrival at Arsenal. After two seasons as first choice Mikel Arteta's on the left side of the defense, however, the club strengthened defensively and Zinchenko gradually began to drop out of the strongest possible lineup. To a certain extent, his relatively frequent injuries are also to blame for this, as they certainly don't help him in the fight for a roster spot. Just to give you an idea, Arsenal management brought in Jurriena Timber, Riccardo Calafiori and yet James Kiwiorwho can also play on the left edge of the defence. Not to mention the comet of the 2024/2025 season, who is none other than the Arsenal alumnus Myles Lewis-Skelly. The competition, especially in the Canaries' defensive line, is huge at the moment. And that's only a good thing from the club's point of view. Zinchenko can benefit from his versatility and experience in the fight for a roster spot.
