Bruno Guimarães, who had been linked with a transfer to Arsenal years ago, finally committed his future to the North London club ahead of the 2026/2027 season. The Premier League will be no step into the unknown for the Brazil international, as before moving to Arsenal he spent four and a half years at Newcastle, where he even became team captain. Aside from his undeniable footballing qualities and leadership skills on and off the pitch, Guimarães is characterised by his fighting spirit and commitment. It is precisely the combination of all these things that makes him such a prized player. The Brazilian footballing school, South American temperament and physical attributes tailored for English football are not seen all that often. In one of his first interviews after moving to Arsenal, he described himself as a fighter and promised to always give his all on the pitch.
