Takehiro Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in 2021, when he came to the English capital from Bologna in Italy. Despite the fact that he has been at the Emirates Stadium for quite a long time, he unfortunately hasn't played much in an Arsenal jersey. This is not because he is not a good enough footballer. The main problem is recurring injuries. For example, in the 2024/2025 season, the Japanese international managed to hit only one single league game. In terms of footballing qualities, Tomiyasu has everything a modern defender should have. He doesn't lack strength in personal battles, speed, discipline or the famous Japanese diligence and organisation. Last but not least, Tomiyasu makes full use of both feet in his game, which adds to his versatility. If the Japanese international can dig himself out of his protracted health problems, he will be a great asset to the squad Mikel Arteta's.
